Reijo Lauro from Finland forwarded me the following informations picked
up in the Danish magazine Objektiv nr.35, april 1986, page 10 :
Fotex 4x4 cm is one of the few cameras made in Denmark. Only 433 cameras
have been manufactured ; production ceased in 1953; original price
was 24 Danish Crowns.
"Objektiv" is edited by Dansk Fotohistorisk Selskab.
So, it IS a rare camera !

FED
STEREO |
Année / year 1988-1996
SN 204745 FED STEREO in cyrillic letters on front.
Zone focus 35mm stereo camera with built in Cds metering.
Negative
format : 24x30mm 7 perf. Image Window Separation 63.4 mm
Lenses
are multicoated Industar-81 4-element Tessar, f2.8/38mm, filter
thread M 25.5 x 0.5 or clip-on filters 27 mm.
Manual focusing from 1 m to infinity, movement of the whole lens.
Diaphragms are of the double lamellar type
(diamond shaped), f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16 (linked with
shutter speed).
Mechanical double lamellar type (diamond shaped) shutter cocked with
film transport.
Speeds :
- 1/30 to 1/650 sec at f2.8 to f/16 (automatic mode, needs battery)
- "B" at f2.8
- 1/30 at f2.8 to f16 (manual mode, no bettery needed)
This is a very usable camera but with some peculiarities :
- The first time that you advance film it only advances once and will
take a picture. After the second exposure the film must be advanced
three times to clear all the exposed frames. This pattern of one advance
then three advances continues to the end of the roll.
- Automatic setting : when the camera is set to automatic and the light
is insufficient the shutter release refuses to work. There are no
warnings or other indications.
The camera shown here has been bought new in 1992 and comes with
lenscap, hard plastic box, cardboard box and instructions in Russian.

FED 3
Model B |
*Année / year c.1964-80
SN 8687237 lens 7120415
The Fed 3 is a development of the earlier Fed and Fed 2 cameras, being
themselves copies of the Leica II and III 35mm cameras.
It has a new short base rangefinder assembly with a new shutter. The
shutter has speeds of B,500,250,125,60,15,8,4,2,1 and 30. The range
finder cam now has its axis of rotation on the rewind side and dioptric
adjustment is made by rotating the view finder. Dual engraving Cyrillic
and Latin script " FED-3" ( this export model with "MADE
IN USSR" on the back). The shutter must be wound first, only then
can you set the correct speed.
The camera was given a new flat top and a rapid film advance lever. The
shoulder strap lugs were removed and a fixed film take up spool was
added, except for export models which still had removable spools. The
eveready case for this camera has one snap and is made of brown leather
with FED-3 (in Cyrillic Script letters) with a chrome ring.
Lens mount LTM 39mm, lens type FED Industar-61 f2.8/52mm.
