SN 144533
Fully automatic aperture-priority metering 35mm SLR camera.
One of the noteworthy and also legendary feature of the OM-2 was that TTL
/ OTF direct metering was incorporated in the camera for the first time in
the world.
Until then, exposure meter built in electronic-shutter AE
cameras could not read light while shutter was running. So it read light
before shutter was released, and shutter speed, or aperture was calculated
out of that light data. But with TTL direct metering, light was read just
as the light reached the surface of the film through built-in exposure
meter.

SN 1396912
This is a simple but very efficient full-frame 35mm camera still fully
functionnal today.
Lens is a D-Zuiko f2.8/40mm. Zone focusing system with stops at 1m,
1,5m, 3m and infinity.
Automatic exposure through a selenium meter adjusting both speed (1/40
and 1/200) and aperture. In automatic mode, shutter does not operate and
a red flag pops up in the viewfinder if light is too low.
A "flash" mode allows you to use the diaphragm setting you
want to use (f2.8 to f22) ; in this case speed is set to 1/40.
Hot shoe on top and flash synchro socket on front.
Bright-frame viewfinder with parallax correction marks.

| PEN EE2 |
*Année / year 1968
(may)
Compact
half frame camera. Fully automatic regulation of shutter and diaphragm,
fixed focus f 3.5/28 mm lens. It
looked the same as the original, but it added two shutter speeds for
more versatility. The shutter operates at either 1/40 or 1/200 and the
selenium meter sets the f-stop at (1/200). The slow shutter speed
setting occurs when the film speed/aperture dial is set to an aperture
setting. When the same dial is set to a film speed setting, the
shutter is set to 1/200 and the f-stop is set by the meter -- ingenious.
So, the camera can be used in low-light situations by setting the
dial to the aperture settings -- with or without a flash.

shutter does not fire in too low light conditions ; or in semi automatic
mode (diaph set from f2.8 to f.22).
Film sensibility can be set from 25 to 400 asa.
