Self erecting drop bed camera for 35mm film.
Coupled rangefinder of the rotating wedge style used on the Super
Ikonta. Uncoupled selenium meter.
It has a double exposure prevention system that will not allow the shutter
to operate unless it has film winding through it (or unless you trick the
camera).
This camera is fitted with a Zeiss Opton Tessar 45mm/f2,8 in a Synchro
Compur MX shutter.
Speeds B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500.
Diaphragm settings from f2,8 to f22.
Focusing from 80 cm to infinity.
With matching leather case marked Zeiss Ikon. |

Top of line of the Contax RF cameras and last model to be marketed, the
Contax IIa was a beautifully made 35mm camera with coupled rangefinder and
interchangeable lenses.
Rigid construction body (die-cast aluminium) with satin-chrome finish and
black leather covering.
Metal fittings and trimmings are chrome plated.
This is the "color dial" model .
Combined Rangefinder and viewfinder windows. RF base is 7,5 cm.
Self timer (about 10 seconds) on front.
Counter is incorporated in the film advance knob (0 to 39).
The focusing wheel is just above the RF window.
Standard PC Flash socket on back, next to the viewfinder synched at 1/50
sec. (Black Dial model require special
Zeiss flash cords for either flash bulbs or electronic flash).
The focal plane shutter is of the verticaly running type with metal
slats (gear connected) and has speed settings of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 (black
color), 50 (yellow color), 100, 250, 500, 1250 (red color)+ B, T.
Lens is the 6 elements coated Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 50mm/f2 .
Numerous web sources say these Post-war lenses were made of aluminum .
This seems to be wrong : this one is a Post-war East german version and is
metal made with chrome finish).
Focusing from 1m to infinity. Aperture range f2 to f22.
With chromed lens cap and matching leather case marked Contax. |

High quality coupled rangefinder camera for 35mm rollfilm. Black painted
body and nickel trim.
Introduced in 1934, the Super Nettel was an amazing combination of the
Super Ikonta folding camera and the Contax.
Self erecting front (by pushing the button on top) with black bellows.
Verticaly running focal plane shutter (metal slats connected with silk
straps) like the Contax I.
The wind knob was on top : a preview of
features to come on the Contax II and III.
The Rangefinder is a rotating wedge design found on the Super Ikonta.
The camera
has a separate viewfinder and rangefinder windows and a removable back.
Counter on top.
Lens is the uncoated Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f2.8/50mm (from f2.8 to f22).
It focuses from 1 m to infinity.
Shutter speeds 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 and B.
It has its leather case with intact strap. |

Following McKeown's camera guide, this is the rare version of the Zeiss Super
Ikonta 530/15 : it is fitted with the Carl Zeiss Iena Triotar f4.5/12cm
lens in a Klio shutter.
Speeds T, B, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100. With
Self-timer. No body release.
This is the Big one of the Super Ikonta line : takes 6.5 x 11cm images on
616 film .
It has its original removable mask for 5.5 x 6.5cm pictures.
Black leather covered rangefinder with Albada folding finder.
Hinged back.

The ICA "Maximar 207" is a
German precision folding bed double extension bellows camera for 9 x 12cm
on glass plates.
Lens on this one is a Carl Zeiss lens marked "Carl Zeiss Jena
nr 180832 Tessar 1:6,3F=13,5cm DRP"
Compound shutter with speeds 1,2,5,25,50,100,250 ; ICA serial
371939
The viewfinder is also equiped with a spirit level.
Rise and fall as well as side to side lensboard adjustments.
This model seems to be an hibrid model as it has Carl Zeiss Jena lens but
not the Zeiss Ikon mark on the front door.
It was made probably circa 1926 when Ica merged with Contessa Nettel,
Goertz, Ernemann to form the Zeiss Ikon company.
These Ica Maximar are much less common than the Zeiss models.

This is the third model of the Baby Box Tengor : it has the focusing lens Novar
Anastigmat f6,3/50mm.
As the regular Tengor for 120 film, this baby box has features for

The most valuable of the three models.

A unique 35mm camera (for Zeiss) made of grey high impact
plastic
and metal (The front shell, top deck and film chamber are plastic,
while the
back, bottom plate, inner lens plate and subframe are die-cast and/or
pressed metal).
Body is curved into a kidney shape and a single lever on the
front winds the film, advances the counter, and cocks the shutter on a
long stroke. The same lever then releases shutter on a short stroke. Red
flag appears in the viewfinder when the shutter is
not cocked. Supplied with
two-tone grey
and blue plastic case with name on front (1256/24).
Reportedly, the camera suffered problems with light leaks, so Zeiss
gathered and destroyed many of them.
Missing on this model : the round plate indicating speeds and distance
around the lens.
